Interviewing for Quality Information - Don Rabon

"The Interview Template" – An interview should be a structured process with a purpose.  The interviewing template serves as a guide to provide the interviewer with the "what" that must be accomplished, the "requisite skills" to make that accomplishment and the "process" to take in order to bring the interview to a successful conclusion.

"Conducting an Interview Pre-Mortem" – How, in a high-stakes interview to, pre-emptively, identify the problems that may arise during each phase of the conduct of the interview and plan accordingly.

Second Session: "Phatic Communication" – The verbal and non-verbal undertakings of the interviewer in the opening seconds of the interview play no small role in the ultimate outcome of the interview.

"Is that the Truth?" – Detecting deception involves 3 keys:  The first key, "questioning" will get the interviewer into the house; the second key, "attending to change" will get the interviewer into the room; the third key, "working knowledge of linguistic terminology" can serve to get the interviewer into the box, wherein lies the truth.
