Toronto, ON: The ACFE-GTA Chapter was well represented at the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) second annual Chapter Leaders' Summit, held in Austin, Texas on December 2 and 3, 2024.

Kyle Kanstein, CFE, a member of the Board of Directors and the Chapter Executive Vice-President & Chief Compliance Officer, and another member of the Board of Directors and the Chapter's Secretary to the Board, Mandy Yousif, CFE, attended the Summit on behalf of the GTA Chapter. The GTA Chapter is grateful to have had one of our sponsors attend the Summit. Michael Holden, B.E.S., FCIP, President of Specialty Risk & Intelligence Services (https://sris.ca), was able to get an increased understanding the ACFE, the Chapters, and our role in combating fraud across the globe.

There were 41 attendees from 31 Chapters, with most of the representatives from Chapters across the United States. In addition to the Greater Toronto Area Chapter, which serves the GTA, Central & Southwestern Ontario, the Vancouver Chapter was the only other Chapter from Canada. There were representatives from Samoa and Bangladesh this year, a first from the international arena.

Commenting on the experience, Kyle said, "It was an incredible opportunity to connect with leaders from chapters around the world, share best practices, and discuss the future of the fraud prevention and detection profession.

"The exchange of ideas and strategies for building stronger, more effective chapters is inspiring. I was grateful for the opportunity, along with my Chapter colleague, Mandy Yousif, to mentor other upcoming chapters leaders. I’m looking forward to bringing back valuable insights to our chapter and continuing our mission of supporting the professional development of Certified Fraud Examiners in the Greater Toronto, Central, & Southwestern Ontario area, and beyond."
