    Toronto, ON:

The health and safety of our speakers, attendees, and staff is paramount and as of today the risks associated with COVID-19 and this type of event outweigh the acceptability of continuing with this conference. Many companies are prohibiting employees from attending group events and organizers are cancelling as a proactive means to prevent the further spread of this virus.

Following the rapidly developing situational reports and news on the spread of  COVID-19, the Board of Directors of the ACFE-GTA Chapter and the Board of Directors of the CPIO have decided to cancel the FIT 2020 conference at BMO IFL as a public safety measure.

We would like to thank our registrants, speakers, staff, and the organizers who worked diligently to put this conference together. Both
Boards are already working on strategies to ensure members continue to receive continuing educational opportunities and CPE hours. We will update our respective communities soon in this regard.

All registrants will be receiving an email notification of this cancellation. Within the coming days, you will receive a full refund. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Toronto, ON: The ACFE-GTA Chapter is pleased to announce they have created a new Regular Member category for police and law enforcement. As regular Chapter Members in good standing, they will receive the Members-Only discounted rates for all GTA Chapter events.

Any active member of a police or law enforcement agency may use this membership category, and they do NOT need to be a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). However, only CFEs can hold the office of Chief Executive Officer and of Chief Learning Officer on the Chapter's board of directors.

The annual rate for the Law Enforcement Regular Chapter Membership is $50.00 + HST and this represents a $25.00 savings from the Regular Chapter Member rate.

Dorian Dwyer, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Chapter, said "This is an important step forward for our Chapter, and is an effort to recognize the important role and efforts of the law enforcement community in the fight against fraud and financial crime. Our goal is to attract more members from the law enforcement community to the Chapter, so we can share our expertise and experience to further the goals of the ACFE."

All CFEs in the GTA, all Law Enforcement personnel, and all community-minded folks who want to learn more about fraud and financial crime are encouraged to join the GTA Chapter. There is a membership category for everyone! You may join the Chapter on our website at: JOIN US
